About The Digest Email

A deeply curated digest powered by MarketStack The Edit

The site does a lot of editorial heavy lifting to surface the most reader-trusted authors — the weekly digest goes a step further, selecting the highest-MSI-ranked post for each active market theme. It also includes a Signals section: posts from authors showing unusual rank movement.

The result is a digest where every post is the most authoritative voice on its topic, as judged by the market of paying readers — not by an editor's opinion.

The Selection Process

How each digest is curated

1
Read the live site
The script reads the current build of MarketStack The Edit, which rebuilds twice daily (07:00 and 13:00 BST) from the RSS feeds of every author in the MarketStack Index. Topic tabs — AI & Tech, Oil & Energy, Earnings, and so on — are generated dynamically from the pool of active posts each build. They change day to day.
2
Score every post by author authority
Each post is scored by its author's MarketStack Index rank. Rank #1 scores highest. Only authors inside the top 50 of the Index are eligible — posts from authors ranked below that threshold are excluded entirely.
3
Assign one post per topic, one author across the whole digest
The algorithm walks the ranked list and greedily assigns the highest-scoring eligible post to each topic tab. Once an author has been selected anywhere in the digest, they cannot appear again — even if they are writing about multiple topics today. This enforces author diversity across every edition.
4
Drop weak topics
If no top-50 Index author has published in a given topic tab today, that topic is excluded from the weekly digest. The digest only covers topics with real authority behind them.
5
Order by Index rank
The selected posts are ordered by their author's Index rank — highest authority first. The hero story (selected by the site's own scoring algorithm, which weights authority, narrative momentum, recency, and headline depth) always leads.

Signals

The Signals section at the bottom of each weekly digest is separate from the main selection. It surfaces authors whose MarketStack Index rank is moving in a statistically unusual way — large rank spikes, personal best positions, or returns to the list after a long absence. These are authors whose readership momentum is doing something out of the ordinary, regardless of their absolute rank. The same no-repetition rule applies: no author in Signals has already appeared in the main digest.
